Cod was one of the first fish that went commercially extinct. Fishermen had new regulations they had to overcome. Some fishermen went to other fish, but when they became scarce more regulations were placed on fish. Modern Europe has more regulations than of all time because their government wants the many fish species to recuperate. The decline of cod has helped everyone, including Europeans, that nearly fish can and will go extinct if there arent regulations put in place.
