With so umteen Americans becoming much and more disillusioned with the political system, some saw Perot has vindicatory the outsider that the country needed. Perot was considered a threat to the re-election of President Bush. Republicans feared that Perot faculty take votes that would have gone to Bush if Perot were not running. Democrats, of course, did not see Perot as a threat at all. Perot held many of the same views that many Republicans did, with a few exceptions. Some labelled Perot as a Populist, but he is closer to world a Libertarian in his political views.

Perot was able to garner the contribute and votes of Republicans who were fiscally conservative, but were not Christian conservative. Ross Perot believed in little government, but was pro-choice, a position that many Republicans could not accept.
