Because of our continuously changed races overseas and technological advances over time, the United States has seen many changes in the normal American food. The relationship between the economy and the popular food items is apparent. For example, when great deal have money, they are going to buy more expensive foods, and, when people are sad, the popularity of comfort foods will rise. It is to say, American food has not always been considered hamburgers and French fries, but rather food that qualified the current economic status and popular influences of the United States. A little over half a century ago, the United States was slowly crawling out of the economic crash know infamously as the Great Depression. During WWII, the American government found a rationing of food to be essential for the economy.

From coffee to arctic vegetables, rationing stamps were limited from family to family. American families had to reduce their meat economic consumption to 28 ounces of meet per week. For a nation that had not adopt the popularity of vegetarianism, this was very difficult to adapt to.
