Euthyphro

In Euthyphro, Socrates brings up a question that is very debatable. Is the self-righteous loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? This basically asks whether something is right because it is right or is it right because matinee idol says its right. I think something is right because it is right. I think pack have a conscience because we be able to soil and have empathy for others so we deal when something is wrong. Something cant be right only if because someone says so. I think sight just know right or wrong. Even when you argon a dupe and you steal a candy bar, you know its wrong and you odour bad about it.
A benefit for my position would be that you dont have to do something just because some deity or someone says its right. You do something because you know its right. Also, you are not confine in what you do by something. You can live your biography how you want to. But a drawback would be that you wouldnt be support for goodness or for a deity, you would be living for yourself and this could come out selfish to some. But if you are really doing things that you heart are truly right, then it shouldnt seem selfish. I know that people dont always choose the right closing in flavour though. That would be impossible. People do things for an array of reasons.



But if a deity says that something is right because they say its right, is it really right? What if you feel different than what they say? Are you wrong and their right? And if you are against what they say are you going to be in affect? This is what doesnt make a lot of sense to me about that position. I would much rather make a decision on what I feel is right rather than what someone tells me to do. A benefit of this position would be that you wouldnt have to make the decision yourself if you had someone or something telling you what is right or wrong. If a deity says it is right its going to seem right to you if thats what you opine in.
